Good things come from actions

At Satakunta Cooperative Society, we constantly work to promote local wellbeing, sustainable consumption, climate, the environment and equality together with our personnel, partners and co-op members. Our sustainability comes from meaningful small actions in our daily lives, one action at a time.

Local sustainability

  • Local food from Satakunta

Satakunta Cooperative Society works closely with producers in Satakunta. S Group stores sell over a thousand local products, marked with the fork logo, and there is always room for more. Customers can enjoy local food produced by both small companies with a few products and providers with a wide selection, such as Kivikylä, KalaValtanen, Porin Leipä and Satamaito. Of course, customers make their own choices, but we offer a wide range of options. We want the local industry and producers to thrive and that the money spent stays in the local economy. In total, Satakunta Cooperative Society's broad range of food products includes about 25,000 products, of which about 80% are of Finnish origin. We promote local food in stores and mark them with our own fork logo. According to Satakunta Cooperative Society's definition, local food is food produced or processed in the Satakunta region, and its main raw ingredient must be of Finnish origin.

Welcome to the Ecosystem of Action

You picked up red-labelled discount products for a snack – and helped reduce food waste. You picked the first produce that caught your eye in the fruit and vegetable section – which means you chose what’s in season. Everyday acts of sustainability add up to a big impact.

Common good

We want to promote the well-being of our region, and we collaborate in a variety of ways with local sports clubs, cultural operators and societal activities. Our sustainability collaboration actions reflect our and our co-op members’ values.
